I believe the timber should not sit directly on the concrete slab there should be some type of material between the two. Can someone please adv what this material is and where I buy it from.
Thank you.:2tsup:

Normally a dampcourse (Plastic or bitumen based) - but what is the exterior wall? May need more info to answer this correctly!

Thanks Lo,

I have done a small sketch - a bit over board but will do the job. The Green & Red are simply plastic dampcourse that you can buy at any Hardware that comes in different widths from 100mm to 500mm I think - buy the 500mm and cut down the centre to suit the two separation layers that are in the drawing. The main thing is to have a clear inspection area between the ground level and the under side of your weatherboards. Good Luck!

Ask for Poly Dampcourse at the hardware - just a cheap one!

Hi ringtail,

Haven't heard from LO, but I assumed it was a garage from the heading above his post!

Maybe he's still at Bunnings?

I really should read the titles eh. I just put down a bead of sika ( very big bead ) then put a gal ant cap down over the chemset starter bars. Then I put the plastic dampproof down, another bead of sika, bottom plate down and tight, build the wall and then fold the damp proof up both sides of the bottom plate and tack it off using fibro nails. Takes a bit more time but what the hell.
