Hi all,
I'm about to replace an existing patio roof which is attached to the house.
The patio roof is 20m long and 3.6m wide for 11m and 6m wide for the other 9m.

The patio roof rafters (900mm spacing) are attached to the house under the gutters by way of hangers which I think are only riveted to the metal facia!!
The battens are at 800mm spacing. The sheeting is Colorbond Trimdek.
Where the patio is 6m wide the rafters are checked out on the top to raise them a further 30mm. The patio roof is above the overflow slots of the house gutter along this section. I am intending on pulling this whole roof down.
I am considering having a single span for the 3.6m section and 2 spans for the remainder.
I would like to be able to have the new roof just above the house gutter without it being a fly over type. I'm thinking of using angled strengthening brackets on every other rafter to attach a header beam and have the new sheeting attached to it. This would allow me to increase the height above the house gutter for the 6m wide part of the patio to retain the same fall.
Does this sound feasible and practical or are there alternatives which are more practical.
Hopefully I've provided enough detail for you to understand what I'm trying to do.
Thanks for your suggestion/input.
Regards
