View Full Version : My driveway

This is something I did a few years back.
It's where I park my ute and down that side of the house was just a muddy mess.

All the pavers are recycled. (You'll notice this as a common theme with most of the stuff I do around my house)
Some were pulled up from someone's house, some left over from jobs I've done over the years and some scored free through the local tradingpost type magazine.

Eventually it will all be ripped up and relayed and extended to the road, once I've sorted out a few things in the front yard.
Gotta apply to the council for a second entrance yet, as the main driveway is on the other side of the house.
Hence the thread title.
His 'n Hers driveway

The 3x3 shed recently got replaced with a 6x3 shed.
Recycled of course, as was this one.

Nice. Creative use of mixed pavers.

Really nice, do I see black plastic? What are the pavers laid on? We just had 300mm in three days, that exposed leading edge would have been scoured out.

Really nice
Thanks.

do I see black plastic? .
Yes you do.
I did the paving first and then we poured the shed slab on the side right up to the pavers.
The black plastic is under the concrete slab.

What are the pavers laid on?
150-200mm roadbase and 50mm crusherdust.

Great stuff, crusher dust, in a pinch I make concrete with it.

Yeh I've done that on the odd ocasion.
It's always good to add a bit of sand to it as well.

I did a paving job a few years back and the bloke had a pile of purple crusherdust in the yard and he said to use that.
After I'd laid a few rows of pavers (white, of course) I noticed all these little pink-ish swirly patterns on the pavers.
It was from where I'd been squatting down/twisting my boot after walking in the purple dust.
