i have a salt water pool 115kl, it runs 2 pumps, i have recently replaced the old pumps with a viron P300 variable speed pump and now run it on low speed. been running them almost a week and i tested the chlorine levels this morning and it thorugh the roof. the tester i use turned a colour that is soo bright it doesnt match anything on the scale so im assumng the levels are very high.
how do i fix this?? just turn the chlorinators down or what? other levels seem ok.
I would have thought running the pumps slower and running less water thorugh the chlorinators i would be struggling to keep the chlorine levels correct and would have to run the pumps longer hours.

Hi,

Just turn the chlorine levels down for a while until you find the optimum level. Bright sun and usage will use up chlorine normally so do not worry. You evidently have more efficient equipment now connected, so just experiment for the right levels.

got'em down to minimum now, will see how long it takes to get the level down to correct.

If you want to swim in it and are concerned with Ch levels

Backwash and refill with untreated water for immediate effects.

Do you mean pump is now running low or do you mean you have turned the chlorinator down???

You could reduce your chlorine by either reducing the run time hours of your pump ( which in turn runs the chlorinator ) / Or you could adjust the chlorine setting on your chlorinator.
