Hi all. Just bought a new place and have noticed the house is pretty boggy underneath after all this heavy rain. The driveway along the entire side of the house has lifted and now slopes toward the house. The water seems to be flowing to the opposite side of the house to the driveway at the front. we are going to do the big reno in a couple of years but i want to get this problem fixed. By the looks of it this could have been happening for years as the house was a rental and there was crap piled up the side of the house so it was impossible to see the problem earlier.
My question is, will pulling up the driveaway and putting down some porous compacted material as paths and garden beds alleviate this problem allowing the water to drain naturally. Any advice appreciated. Cheers. Oh, the house is on stumps and the soil is mostly clay.

Hi, One of my best mates lives in Somerville road

If doing a reno would probably leave the concrete in place and instead install sub surface drainage and surface drainage and connect to the storm-water system
