Hi,

I'm currently building a pergola that is 3m x 6m.. I have 90 x 90 posts x6 holding up 4x 190 x 45 beams.. posts are 2700 centres along the length and 2200 centres for the width..
I have put up 90 x 45 x 3000 F5 rafters spaced at 667mm.. according to some rafter span measurements i have 90 x 45 these are on the small side, but other span tables i have found say this is acceptable.. should i have gone with the 120 x 35's..?

It will be holding up suntuf roofing, so Im not overly concerned with the weight.. Whats the worst that can happen if they are too small, will it just sag in the middle..?

Thinking of 35 x 70 battens at 500mm spacing.. If my rafters are too small, is it better to upgrade the battens to 45 x 70 or will this just add more unneccesary weight to the rafters..?

thanks for any advice, I love this forum..!
