Hi Guys,
Some advice on hanging a door would great. I have a Jarrah door that I need to hang outside and was going to use a piece of 100m*100m dynabolted to the house and then hang the door of this. Do you think this will be strong enough to hold the door, or will I need a piece of 100mm*100m on either side of the door to stop it dropping?

I have attached a picture of the door, and it will ne hanging at the side of the house ( back right side of the picture ).

use 3, or 4 if that is as heavy as it looks, will hold it fine however I would be inclined to use masonry anchors (anka screws etc) as opposed to dynabolts. Also us treated as the problen with bolting timber to the house that touches the ground is that you are providng some nice juicy termite entry to your house where the sweet smell of pine is wofting......or leave a visual barrier (ie. bolt post with 100mm gap from ground)

Side note -

A beautiful door like that deserves to be re finished. find a cabinet maker ask them to run it through the thicknesser and finish it up for you. Then re varnish or oil it.

It will be a real feature after this

Thanks Mate - was always going to leave a clearance of at least 50mm, and was looking to use 100mm square jarrah post.

good idea to get it put through a thicknesser but the other side is uneven, and my wife likes the look it has. It was her job to sand and coat it. I just did the deck and have to hang it.
