I am hoping to talk my hubby into replacing the kitchen in a house we just purchased! :;
could anyone please recommend a cabinet maker or company that does flat pack kitchens in Perth?

Proform DIY in Malaga are very good, but a little on the expensive side. I have only used them for the Bench tops - very high quality.
Stay away from the Bunnings flat packs. If you wish to spend less than Proform then Ikea is a reasonable call. I know many will bag them, but friends of ours have their flat packs installed and the quality is very good. My only gripe about any flat pack available is the height of the kick boards. 160mm does not look good in my opinion - OK that's because I made my own cabinets and have 120mm height for kick space. You may be able to get Proform to make the base cabinets higher and adjust drawer/door sizes accordingly.
Having said all that, it is merely just my opinion which is only 1 of many out there. :D
Installing is easy if you follow a few basic rules - Google is your friend (Google and ye shall find ...)
Happy hunting

Any cons?
Price?
Material quality or components not as good as Ikea?

there are several flat pack people on this forum who do this .i believe most will do whatever is required in the design .eg height of kicks/depth/colour .
the large manufacturers can only give limited choices as they are usually made overseas (irrespective of the country selling them) at large quantities with no allowance for change .
who do you think pays for the big sheds or the large wander about all day showrooms ,you do
bigger isnt always the best option

Tom, as you say there are some (on this forum) who will change height as required - problem is you guys are all over east. Here in Perth the choice is limited when it comes to flat packs being tailored. The one I mentioned is the only one I am aware of (there may be others). Yes the large companies cannot change their flat pack designs.

Thanks for the replies and yes Google is my friend! I am thankful that my Dad is visiting me at the moment for a few months. We will be moving while he is here, so he is going to install the kitchen for me!

i send my kitchens to western australia all the time .freight only becomes an issue when shipping to remote communities which require freight forwarding.most times the lower costs of material on this side of the country offsets the cost of freighting the product to there

HI Tom... Yes I did look at your site. Dad and I went and measured the kitchen this afternoon while the structural report was being done! I couldn't wait! LOL
Will definitely keep you in mind... once Dad has worked out what we need will contact you! Thanks!

Tom Is right, Freight isnt a problem across to WA. I did my parents kitchen 18 months ago without any issues. Actually, i was really surprised in how much the local kitchen showrooms are quoting for Supply only kitchens. When i was over there i did a bit of running around to see what local flatpack companies were setup over there and i was shocked to see there were only a couple, and they were limiting in the products they could supply. I have alot of family in Perth who are building or reno'ing and i was hoping to be able to source locally, but i think i would still freight a flatpack from over here.
If you need a good cabinetmaker on the southside, Caruso Cabinets (08) 9434 4550 is worth a call. He helped me out at a moments notice and cut some extra panels for me when i stuffed up on the last day.
