We have an Old Evaporative air-conditioning system on the roof that I intend to get removed. Has anyone had any experience with such project and how much it could cost approximately?
Thanks

G'day,
They're pretty basic units, a sheetmetal box nailed/screwed to the rafters. If the rafters have been cut to get the unit to fit you may want to fix up that area with suitable timber and you'll prob need some batten material for the roof be it tiles or tin as this will have been cut.
I helped remove one, started at the top and worked down making it as lite as possible by removing filters, disconnecting power and water, the unit we removed was rubbish so we just threw it on the ground but if you plan on salvaging it you'll need a few people to help get it down.
Can't help with costs sorry.

Thanks for your reply, I am not that confident to do it by myself, I will have to keep inquiring.

If you want to get someone to do it for you rather than DIY then I'd start by contacting a company that installs them. If they can put it in then they should be able to take it out.
If it's not urgent then you might get a better price if you agree to let them do it after Summer when they're not so busy.

Thanks, that sounds wise.
