do you think i should go recycled tas oak ?
as i was looking at the post below on the woodworkers forum and the new and the old together looked shocking.

Not sure what more can be added on this site - 'Dusty's' advice is on the money: if you want ease of handling then use new, if you want a better match use the recycled. But . . . if the whole floor is to be sanded back bare then the new and old will mostly look close enough to be the same once coated - variations between mills and batches can be quite high too so there is no guarantee that your old boards will match with the recycled ones you get. My own view is that I like timber and accept a wide range of variation even in a single area - tassie oak is one of those that can often look like a veneer or a manufactured floor it is so lacking in the sort of marks and patterns that I like in other timbers. Personal taste though.

Aged or recycled is definitly the go, You will get a better match with the colours. Just google Demolition or timber recyclers and you shoud find some one. I think Dusty mentioned someone on another thread just reciently.
