Which thickness should I use for external cladding? Is 4.5mm sufficient?

hi. Any cladding grade material should be totally fine. The thicker material should have better thermal properties but t may not be a justifiable additional expense, given other insulation to be applied. You will be able to get good technical advice from the makers.

If the area to be cladded is a ground floor (and so is prone to the bumps and knocks of family life, or tenants that may care even less...) I would only use 7.5mm (e.g Harditex/blueboard).

Thanks for that.
