Gday,

Did a small tiling repair job the other day, they must of had a leak, (in the popular area for a leak!) at the point where the thread gets soldered onto the copper pipe that is the mixer pipe between H & C taps.
The plumber replaced this copper mixer pipe and new spindles etc....however the existing laundry spout doesnt screw back onto the new thread now.
The existing spout female thread is a bit small.
Are there different threaded pipe sizes for this piece im describing?

It looks the same size, but only screws on 3/4 of a turn....maybe its a different thread BSP vs Metric(or something)??

thanks for any replies

cheers

The breech piece male thread will be 1/2 inch, can't be anything else, but what I would be doing is to replace the outlet, it's possible that the original one was damaged when it was unscrewed

When you say it only screws on 3/4 of a turn, does the outlet hit the tiles or is the spout just tight on the thread? Have you checked the thread for damage or is it filled with tile adhesive etc

Try screwing it on something else

There is two sizes for wall mounted spouts. One is the current size, which should be 15mm or 1/2 inch. One is the older size which is around 18mm and in-between both 1/2 and 3/4 inch. Any plumbing shop will have the correct 15mm size outlet in stock
