I live in a 1960s 3 storey town-house in the northern beaches. The ground floor has a lobby and garage. In the garage there is a 150mm clay waste pipe in the concrete slab floor. Previously there was a 50mm copper pipe cemented into this to which an old sink was connected. In the garage there is also a cold water shower draining into another waste in the concrete slab.

Recently I've divided this area off from the rest of the garage with a stud wall and a doorway, to make it more like part of the house. Ideally I would like to add a toilet and a sink and have the washing machine in here too.

My questions are these;

How would a plumber connect the sink and the toilet to the existing waste?
Is this legal provided the correct distances, falls and traps are used?
And if so what are the minimum distances ?

I'm in the process of planning the room so I need to know this information to get the design right.

Also, I'm guessing that a floor drain is also a legal requirement these days? It's of course extremely desirable from my POV as it's a laundry room/bathroom!
