Guys

The plasterer is telling me its the electricians job to pull the cables through in our new granny flat he is sheeting - the electrician tells me its bolloks that he is not there and cant see the cabling and its a simple case of punching a hole pulling cable through when he is laying the sheeting!

Whos job is this?

Normally the person who is doing the sheeting (the plasterer) pulls the electrical cables through on the walls, they should all have a bracket on them, so the plasterer just measure to the centre of the bracket, makes a small hole & pulls cable through(or just tucks it back, so it doesnt get in the way of their trowels.

Ceilings are different in my experience....plasterer usually just tucks cable up & leaves it, sparkie should then drill/cutout where they have put the cables, according to their plan, or mark on floor.

cheers

Plasterer, you would not want to pay the electrician an hourly rate while he waits for the plasterer to put up all the sheets.

As long as the cables are fixed where they want them to come out all will be fine.

Take photos of the wall framing after electrical rough-in. Even if the plasterer pulls wires through he may miss one. This happened to me, my electrician couldn't work out how he'd wired the laundry, and my photos saved the day.

Mark on the floor the height to centre, stud brackets can be found with a metal/stud detector, plasterer can and does forget!
