Cypress Gold posts for timber picket fence

I recently started construction of a front timber picket fence using Cypress Gold 90 x 90 posts. I have already given them 3 coats of paint (2 undercoats + 1 top coat) before putting them in the ground. I concreted them in over the long weekend and have since heard conflicting messages regarding the timber.

Are these posts ok for this type of application ie in-ground? The friendly blokes where I bought them said they were perfect for this type of job - although I am now thinking they just wanted a sale?!

Yes, they are for inground use. You may encourage some debate over whether to concrete or dirt backfill tho.

When we sell them, we always encourage the customer to paint the in ground part of the post with a bitumen rubber membrane to increase the lifespan.
