If the tools were squeaky clean to start with (no retained grease or sawdust) - rinse in clean water*, blow dry with high pressure air or hair dryer/hot air gun.
If tools were a bit greasy/dirty/trapped crud - kero + short bristled paintbrush to clean them, dry off with old towel.
* SA residents - this means import some from another state......

Agree with both of the above (except the bit about our water quality:))
You need to get on to it straight away before rust sets in otherwise you will be having to add ad a de-rust tools as your first step.
I had a similar problem last year with water getting into my store room.
My protection fluid of choice is CRC Longlife.
If you want a litre I can do you a can for $25.00. (I ended up buying a 20 litre drum of the stuff)

No, unfortunately you will have to go to a industrial supplier eg
Collins Industrial Distributors: (http://www.collinsid.com.au/Product.php?Operation=SetSessionVariable&Variable)[ProductCodeID]=crc-3099
Blackwoods, CBC and Coventry Fasteners are also possible options.
I ended up buying 20 litres as $16 - $23 for a 300g spray can was just too expensive in the long run.
If anyone is interested and in South Australia (Adelaide) I would be happy to pass some on for $25.00 a litre.
It will be supplied in a 1 litre micro drum with label and TDS/MSDS (not an old coke bottle).
I can arrange for collection from Eden Hills, Paralowie or Morphett Vale as required.
