Hi everyone,
We had a new deck (blue gum) laid just before christmas. Our builder told us to leave it for at least 8 weeks before oiling. Anyway in that time some of the wood developed splits and some raised bits. Anyway after much discussion with the timber yard they agreed to replace some of the boards. The new timber is being laid today so now our deck has brand new beautifully coloured timber and the older stuff which has already discoloured considerably. Just wondering if we should oil straight away or try to sand some of the older timber so it looks closer in colour to the new timber? We are planning on using Feast Watson Jarrah. Do you think it will "mask" some of the different colour once the oil goes on?
thanks for any help.
