View Full Version : Invasive Inspection for Termite Damage. Where/Who?

Hello,

We have some termite damage to some flooring and a few floor joists. We have been recommended to get an invasive inspection to determine the extent of damage to hidden areas (i.e. walls, etc.). I don't just want to pull gyprock off walls willy nilly.

I'm wondering who I can get to do the inspection? Are there builders out there that specialise in this type of thing? I want to repair all damage before we renovate. I'm in S.E. suburbs of Melbourne.

Thanks for any advise.

One of the car parts places (Repco, Autopro, Autobarn etc) was advertising inspection cameras in a recent brochure - something like $149. Might be an option if you wanted to have a go, as you'd only need a 10mm hole in the gyprock to poke it through, and it has it's own LED light source built in.

Find out where the pest controller wants to have a look, there may be a power point close by(remember to turn off power)....they can then stick a mirror in to have a look around, otherwise cutting a hole about the same size as a stubby holder will be fairly easy to repair.
