Hi,
We have old timber cupboard doors in our kitchen that we are intending to paint to freshen things up (can't afford a full kitchen replacement!). We will start with a sealer/undercoat, but were then intending on just painting them the same colour as our existing walls (very neutral colour). As we have quite a lot (almost 10L) of our semi gloss paint still, I figured that we'd just use that, but my husband thought we should perhaps go with a high gloss finish on the cupboards to give them a slightly more hard-wearing finish.
So my question is, to cut down on costs of additional paint we'd need to buy - can we do our first top coat in the semi-gloss we already have, followed by the final top coat in a high gloss (which we'd need to buy)? Or will this give it a dodgy finish?
Appreciate any thoughts/advice!
Cheers,
K
