Hi.

Just about to start building and have already spec'd the 'Brushed Chrome' range of Gainsborough Door Sets to go throughout the house, mainly from a practical perspective (ie. marks & grubby fingerprints wont show up). I like them but I like the look & feel of the 'Bright Chrome' finish better and SWMBO doesn't really care either way so I'm tempted to change them all however I'm concerned that the chrome finish wont last as long as the brushed and will physically deteriorate faster therefore resulting in disgusting looking green-ish, rusty & rough feeling components in as little as 10-15 years time. Gainsborough offer a 5 year Tarnish Warranty which is nice but heck '5 years'... C'mon! I know nothing lasts forever but it's be great to know they'll still look great after 5 years.

If anyone could give me a better idea of how long I can expect Gainsboroughs 'Bright Chrome' finish to stay looking close to 'as new' then I'd really appreciate it, thanks.

G'day,

I've had Gainsborough Bright chrome door furniture for 8 years and they're still mint, never had an issue with fingerprints or anything like that.

Ahh, great news Godzilla, thanks for that! I see that you're in Melbourne and wonder if this would be different in Brisbane with the humidity etc. but I suppose now I'm just being paranoid ;)

Anyone else with Gainsborough 'Bright Chrome' Door furniture before I take the plunge?
