i will be requiring professional assistance with the waterproofing of the soon to be new bathroom at ours. while i know i can ( i think i can, i think i can...) do it, i would rather have the peace of mind that a pro offers with their lovely builders insurance backing. so, can i have a few recommendations for tradies on the north side of brisbane (we are at Deagon) who will do a great job in our bathroom. it has hardwood floors, if that is important to know up front.

Free call 1800 025 220 and they will connect you to the Wet-seal Waterproofing operaror in your area. he/she will come and inspect the work and give you a free quote and advise.
You get a written warranty and certificate, all materials and methodology meet or exceed the current standards and all materials are approved by the CSIRO and Branzs.
Good luck. :)

thanks oldsaltoz. i picked up this number from another of your threads and got the number for a bloke at kallangur. will give him a call on monday. on a tangent, do you know any good web sites to give us bathroom tiling ideas? alot of the tiling places just show a couple of tiles rather than the whole bathroom.

You can get some ideas from the high volume builders web sites. Better yet have a look at new 'open house' or display homes, much better than a picture.
Good luck. :)

not only that, but use a tiler that the waterproofer is willing to recommend. not just whoever the tile shop can dig up for you.

oldsaltoz, should the wp seal onto the breech base fittings rather than spindle when it comes to taps and spouts for a bath tub? On my job, it looks like the black square that has been used has been fitted to surround the spindle so that when i took out the tapware this morning, the little bit of water in the pipes dripped down inside the wall.

Not much point trying to seal the spindle as the broken as soon as it rotated. Seal is always between the body of the tap or spout and the wall, most then have a covering flange so the sealing is out of sight.
Tip:
Put a chamfer around the hole in the sheet, it gives the sealant a wider area to stick to.
Good luck. :)
