bathroom is starting to take shape (finally!!!). we are learning, no doubt as all do, that renovating with kids around is very time consuming and disruptive. and, boy, do kids hate doing the rounds of bathroom supply shops!!! anyhoo, we have a lovely big bath and a fabulous round edge spout which is a bath mount, not wall mount. small problem, our lovely big bath does not have any holes for a spout. so, question is how does one drill acrylic without weakening the shell, causing cracks, or other disastrous problems? there will need to be three holes - large central with one on each side. the side holes i think must be to stabilise the spout so it doesn't spin once installed? the attached pdf shows the spout but doesn't include the two small holes on either side of the main hole.

I'd consider glueing a piece of 20mm marine ply to the underside of the shell where the tap set will be.
Drilling holes in the bath is just a matter of either a hole saw or spade bit.
If I had a choice though, definitely a wall mounted tap set is better than through the shell.

thanks guys. i think we might go with a wall mount instead. it would be a right pain to complete the new bathroom and then break the bath (before getting into it!!)
