Bathroom reno - companies

Can anyone give me any recommendations of companies who can give us a quote for renovating a small bathroom in Brisbane? Someone who is actually going to be interested?

We have contacted about 10 companies so far & most haven't even responded. Only two came out to have a look & one of them just never bothered to send through the quote a month later. So we have one quote but would like more & it's getting extremely frustrating that none of the companies can be bothered to respond to messages or emails.

Also, quick question - is it normal & necessary to need to rip out & replace all of the wall plaster in the entire bathroom? Maybe this is for waterproofing as we are not doing anything else that will affect the walls.

It's not uncommon for older bathrooms to have standard wall sheets that are not WR (Water resistant) rated, so they have to removed or risk an early failure.

If the existing walls are to be re tiled it's also cheaper and faster to replace the sheets, as most of them get badly damaged trying to remove the old tiles.

It's also a good idea to strip the shower walls so the plumbing and studs can be properly inspected.
