New privacy screen - where to get posts from

Hi all

I haven't posted here in ages.

I am going to attempt to build some new privacy screens along one of my fences so that we don't have to look straight into the neighbours place. I believe we want to put horizontal treated pine (painted) slats about 600 higher than the fence.

Just wondering if Gal posts concreted into the ground are my best bet ( fence is 1.8m so add 600 height, than would eave be 600 in the ground )? Ay idea where the best place to buy them from would be ( going to need a few).

Also, is 900 the maximum recommend span for treated pine for a screen?

Any steel supplier/fabricator will have it (much cheaper than any cut to length stuff sold in hardware or fencing supplies.) Look up yellow pages or similar

Checked out metal mart today and they were a lot cheaper than Bunnings - thanks for that.

Another question - can you paint Gal posts?

yes. I'd use a good primer like that red oxide one first, sticks like chit to a boot.
