Got several splashes of acrylic paint on bricks from a rough as guts painter.
Whats the answer to get it of, I cant use high pressure water type stuff as its close
to gyprock walls etc.
Thinking of trying paint thinners but thought I would ask here first

Thanks
Fred

I would have thought paint thinners would disolve the paint and make it more inclined to smear/spread. I would probably test an area with a paint stripper or even a heat gun first.

good luck

I've had some luck using a paint scraper to get as much off as possible and then rubbing the residue off with acetone and a rag. It took quite a bit of elbow grease but it worked quite well. my bricks are fairly smooth though which made using the scraper easy but the paint was very old and had probably been on there for years. I dont know if this is even a good way to do it but I had the paint scraper and there was acetone in the garage so I just used what I had but it worked

Ive used caustic soda mixed with water and flour to make a paste for stripping paint off large areas of brick. It might be a bit aggressive if you are close to stuff you want to protect but the basic process is to mix (carefully) according to instructions on the jar (except throw in some flour to make it gluggy. Then paint on. leave in the shade if possible for a while - up to a day. spray with a mist of water from time to time so it doesn't dry out. Then hit it with a high pressure hot jet of water.

Maybe for your purpose a very small amount dabbed onto the trouble areas and then scraped off with a paint scraper and then sponge down might work...Like anything test first.
