I want to spray paint 9 doors in gloss enamel. I will need to do this out doors. There are lots and lots of tiny and not quite so tiny flying insect thingys in the air at our place.
Can I add an oil based insect repellant to the paint such as citronella oil?

Might be safer to set up some citronella candles around the area about an hour before you start painting.

I had a similar problem last year while painting a wardrobe door a nice daisy yellow - heaps of insets decided to land in the paint and make funny little squiggle marks whilst trying to escape :(
I haven't tried this idea yet, but my wife suggesting using a outdoor fly-wire-screened picnic thingos as an outdoor spray booth.
