I am chasing a copy/scan/look at AS/NZS 4763(Int):2006 Safety of Portable Inverters.
I am a sparkie, and doing a job for a friends friend, but I dont want to pay $142 for what will probably be a one off use - either I dont make stuff all on the job or the job becomes a lot more expensive!
I have a copy of AS/NZS 3010:2005 Electrical installations - Generating sets that I can trade for this copy/scan/look.
PM me if you can help. Cheers! :2tsup:

just a suggestion and i know its probably wont help but have you tried contacting a local TAFE as here in SA the marleston TAFE has thousonds of standards and often they have licences to print aswell. memebers get AS3000 for less than 50 bucks and AS3008 bout twenty.

You're an electrician & you can't afford $142 dollars. My advice is to increase your hourly rate (to an appropriate amount) &/or to spend money on marketing your business.
Also, it is well advised that anybody who is serious about doing good & legal work in Australia, be a 'subscriber' to SAI (save money on NECESSARY Standards).
If you can't afford to do this, you'll be broke very soon anyway.

Most local libraries have subscriptions to the standards that you can access on one of their computers.
Good for one off uses .......

All fixed thanks to a member of another forum.:)
applied - great idea, and I would have looked there next, but its all sorted.:2tsup:
elkangorito - some pretty strong opinions/assumptions there based on little information. Perhaps you should read my post better - and read between the lines a bit?
1. I didnt say I "cant afford $142". I said I was doing the job for a friends friend, its a one off, and I didnt want to pass the cost onto him, or make nothing off the job.
2. I never said I operated a business - I work for a large company - so I dont need to "increase (MY) hourly rate (to an appropriate amount) &/or to spend money on marketing (MY) business". My hourly rate is fine thank you.
3. I have copies of all the Standards I use in my day to day work - because I am SERIOUS about "doing good & legal work". I also keep them up to date.
4. "If you can't afford to do this, you'll be broke very soon anyway." - thanks for the advice, but you can keep it. You seem to be able to deduce a lot from a simple request - pity your wrong on all counts.
Perhaps you should follow the age old standard - "If you dont have anything nice to say, dont say anything all."
Maybe I made a mistake joining this forum if it consists solely of opinionated so-and-so's like elkangorito. applied's response gives me hope that not everyone will be like him. Time will tell!

Your initial post was vague. Obviously, my assumptions were wrong, about which I'm glad.
Henceforth, I retract my initial response to your post. :)
