do-able?

how would you get a decent bond?

50-60 year old fibro sheet (contains both chrysotile and amosite) garage converted into a guest quarters with suspended polished timber floors, kitchen addition, bathroom addition to make it fully self contained.............

anyways, was thinking about pulling off the joint cover strips as some are in a poor state of repair, but the sheets are in fine condition and sika'ed along any exposed edges, so without the joint cover strips thought maybe it'd give it a good facelift and seal the infinitesimal chance of a stray fibre by taping the joints and poly rendering the joint!!! it won't look like AC anymore and will look like a brand spanking project home style jobbie :B

anyways, you'd have to reckon there'd be at least 15 or so solid coats of every style of paint made over the last 50-60 years coated on it, how to get a decent bond without mechanical abrasion do you reckon?

and yes, for the doubters, I hold all my staying house guests in very high regard, the state of the offending material is in no way harmful to anyone otherwise I would have pulled it out long ago :~

Hi,

Poly render will be as good as the bond of the paint, if its oil based its a different issue though.

I would run Z-disc over walls, roughly, random and then nail expanded metal onto walls and render.
Thanks
