G'Day to all you existing members. My name is danyg, I'm from Townsville, female and not a tradie. I have lived in this house (5 years old) for just over a year and have always had a problem with ants, both inside and out - they have taqken over my pot plants outside and seem determined to share my home! We are experiencing the big wet at present and whole colonies (I suspect) have moved in and, as well as marching around my ceilings, are attempting to nest in my clean folded clothes in my wardrobe. I have been using ant powder (outside) but suspect they are very much in existence inside my house in the walls, ceiling, etc. Inside I have used copious amounts of surface spray with little effect. I have heard that pest control companies have little control over ants and am at my wits end; please any advice?

I just googled "ant control Queensland" and it looks like its a big problem there after the wet.
Any ID of the little critters??

Jars of cotton balls soaked in borax and sugar with a little water ....punch little holes in and let the ants feed on them....its a poision so don't let the kids or animals near. You can hang them in the branches of trees touching the house and keep hoovering the house you must elimante their food sources.:2tsup:
