G'day Chaps,
I have been reading through this forum of yours with great interest, there are some very entertaining people throughout many sections of it, I do relate to some of "ringtails" comments very funny. So I thought for a bit of a laugh I will keep you posted with the trials and tribulations of my own upcoming renovation.
My wife, children and I, took ownership of this little beauty yesterday, (please see attached). She is a solidly built hardwood framed 3 bed beach shack, original in all respects, kitchen, bathroom etc very close to the beach. The challenge is to turn this little ugly duckling :)( into a nice family functioning modern home without losing that beach/shack feel. We intend to stay here for along time.
My wife has a meeting with the draftsmen today to draw up some ideas. The plan to date so far is:
1. 3/4 height white timber fence (got to keep the kids in and the nutters out)
2. 6mx6m raised timber deck on the front, with fly over roof.
3. 6mx4m Master bedroom on the front next to deck.
4. obviously paint job, maybe blue with white trim!!
Then there are the obvious things like the kitchen / bathroom etc. In regards to the Asbestos I am not to concerned, as long as left alone it is a great building product and very sturdy. Plus as all you blokes know we have budgets to stick to!! just if my wife's imagination could stick to it as well, would be a great help:doh:. Well I will keep you all posted with the progress, and shall have same amusing questions / stupid ones I am sure, for you all.
Cheers and Beers
