Do I need crushed rock under lilydale toppings?
If I use 20mm Tuscan toppings or a similar sized pebble I take it that I wouldnt need crushed rock below.
Any help or advice is appreciated.

What are you using it for?

I'm curious about this too. I'm looking at making a path that follows the line of the house, under the eaves. I plan on having large pavers with about 6 inch gaps between them, and filling the gaps and 6 inches either side with pebbles or gravel. Traffic on the path will be fairly light.
If I have a suitable edging to stop the pebbles straying, is crushed rock under the pebbles or pavers necessary?

Would lay cement stabilized road base to path, this will reduce erosion of the works also reducing amount of topping needed.
Also will help with weed reduction.
