I SENT THIS POST THIS MORNING BUT IT DIDN'T SEEM TO MAKE IT TO "NEW POSTS"

I own a double brick semi. It has a common wall down the centre with a hall way on my side and the usual 3 bedrooms off this hall way. I have installed an attic ladder and now I want to store "stuff" up there.

I want to put in a floor suspended (above the ceiling joists - height is not a major problem) over about 8 metres of the hallway and also about 1.8m over the middle bedroom (3 lots of 900mm yellow tongue). This bedroom has brick walls and internally is about 3.3m wide.

What I need to know is:
-what type, grade, dimensions, species (or man made) of beam should I use to bridge the 3.3m bedroom (THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT QUESTION)?
-what dimensions should the beam be that I am going to dynabolt to the common wall?
-can I use joist hangers to join the floor joists to the support beams?
-I intend to use the hall way wall to also support the joists (1 metre out from common wall) .
-would it be ok to use "I beams" as floor joists or should I use timber in its natural state?

Any other information would be appreciated.
