I have been driving around the neighbourhood delivering census forms lately. Took the camera with me in case of interesting photo ops. Thought you might like to see some of the renovators opportunities just waiting to be snapped up around this neighbourhood ...:)

Looks like bloody fantastic land though. What sort of $$$ does rural land go for

No idea Ringtail. The soil varies from a nice rich black soil in some spots, through the sandy loam I have (very stoney and with a shallow bedrock) though to pure sand a bit closer to the coast. The latter is fairly bracken-heavy so unless you plan on keeping pigs is best avoided. You can probably check out the land values on the Roberts or Elders Real estate sites. Do a search for around Buckland by 10 km and that should cover most of this.

Bear in mind that the growing season is limited as it is elevated country as well. Great for sheep and beef cattle, not so good for vegetable growing, unless you like spuds and turnips.
