Default We've made a start

Firstly thanks for the advice on coating Cypress posts, I ended up using Eco Wood preservative.

The day started at 7.15am
I had my nephew helping, he's a 4th year builders apprentice hence the nail gun and one of my nieces boy friends, he's a surveyor, so we had all the gear to make sure the decking is nice and level.

The sub floor was completed by about 2.30 so we made a start on the decking.
The decking is Yellow Balau, after a few boards went down with many bent 50 x 2.8 gal decking nails we decided to pre drill all nails, a bit more work bit should end up with a neater job.
The deck size is 4.5m x 6.6m.

One BIG question is to oil the deck or use an acrylic

Excuse the quality of the pics, I didn't realize my son had got his hands on my mobile phone/camera and decided to try and swallow it, the lens is covered in yuck.

Thanks

Robert
