Have a few things at my dear mothers house that needs a look at.

  • rotting timber beams/joists under bathroom floor - would like someone to have a look at it and recommend solutions...if anyone on this forum could help that would be great, can post some pics later...i'm wondering whether rotted timber should be replaced or simply "reinforced". i'd actually spoke to a builder who said he would reinforce the timber beam with treated pine for $650...it doesnt sound like theres any jacking up or replacement of timber involved - apparently Oz standard says its ok...didnt sound too convincing so a second opinion would be great
  • have cracks around the house that i'd like to have a look at also, am just about to post pics in the brickwork section as i have these pics ready...
  • thinking of replacing bathroom walls and maybe the shed external cladding which i'm thinking is asbestos


any advice/recommendations would be much appreciated.
