Thread: Best brush or methods for painting into shadowline

I'm just in the last phase of finishing a new room and getting ready to paint.

I've put up a 10mm shadowline ceiling, and was wondering if anyone has any tips or tricks for priming/painting into the shadowline? Obviously it's a fairly tight squeeze..

Also, I can see that I might need to slightly fill some approx .25mm gaps where the shadowline touches the wall. Should I do that before or after I prime?

If it's unsealed plaster board i'd seal first then fill the gaps, wiping off the filler with a wet rag can drag the paper off the plaster. As for the shadow line, if it's the same colour as the walls just get a fine brush to get in there, if it's a different colour you may need to mask around the edge for a nice straight line finish.

That's what I was thinking.

Any ideas on a sealer/undercoat that might be "sympathetic" towards my yet untested jointing and sanding skills?

I've used the Dulux sealer for new plaster work, it's about $45 for 4 litres, seems pretty forgiving on my plaster jobs, mostly patching holes and some new sheets and joins.

I spray paint mine white with a quick dry enamel before I put them up, the filling knife scratches them a bit but it looks OK.

yeh use a wall board sealer first, then gap it up. if your normal brush doesnt fit then you'll be up for a small feature brush and problem 3 coats and it doesnt apply enuff paint in the groove, enjoy.
