Thread: Dulux interior low sheen?

I've painted plenty of interior walls but the other day I bought some 'New and Improved Formula' And one of the synthetic material rollers as I didn't have my other much used cover with me. I had just finished using a cheap paint as a pre-coat(white)and was getting a lot of dribbles(cheap=thin)From the start the Dulux was staying on the brush and the roller but the finish when dry was very unsatisfactory. A lot like an extreme 'orange peel' effect. Seemed to be drying very quickly. I suspect it's either the roller or the paint is too thick and needs an additive like Flotrol. The humidity was over 80% so, paint should have been drying slower.

The nap of your roller cover may be the problem..If you are painting onto smooth gyprock 10mm is long enough,up to 15mm will be ok in sheepskin but a bit too" stippley" in synthetic.
I would suggest giving the wall a sand with 120 paper and try one more coat.

agree dont thin the paint out when you fix it either.
