Hi Group,

I live in an apartment with has a roller applied textured paint (not vermiculite) that I damaged whilst repairing some damaged cornice on the ceiling.

The paint which is applied to a smooth concrete ceiling. Once I removed the cornice I can confirm that the paint was applied with a roller.

The texture is like it dried as dripping, and it is paint appears to be relatively thick. I have attached a picture from below.

Does anyone know the type of paint?

I cant help you, only sympathise.

I remember when they bought this rubbish texture-coat paint out in a rough and also a finer finish supposedly to hide bodgy looking ceilings. I wondered then what would happen years down the track when re-coating or patching.

The worst example I saw of this was in a house for sale many years ago in sleepy old Adelaide. They had covered walls, ceilings and cornices of every room (including the wet areas) with this rubbish. People were almost running out the door.

Thanks for the reply. I searched using the word in your reply and I think I found it Dulux AcraTex 950 Roll-On.

Why not try phoning your nearest Dulux Trade Centre and take a picture along when purchasing.
