recipes for making cement MUD
Hi to all,
I have begun making a set of cement spheres for the garden, this all started when I saw a product (in the USA) called Flex-C-Ment.
I watched a group of young guys turn a brick wall into a fake stone wall.
The product is a powder and has liquids added to it, mixed, rested and mixed again. It is possible to load a square nosed shovel around 50 t0 75mm high, and then throw it at the dampened wall,,,, and it simply defies gravity...... It will simply stay there until you use a trowel on it to cover the bricks.
I have been trying (without much success) to find a recipe for a mix similar to this, so I can hand layup the mesh I have covered my spheres with..
My results so far are either way to dry to bind into the mesh,,, or simply way too wet and slumps when I try to apply the mix......
I have never worked with cement before, so there is quite probably a simply solution to this challenge.
I have talked with hardware, and concrete people, and the advice has been to use a stucco mix,,, the problem with that is, it is designed for thin layup coats and I want to apply coats of up to 30 to 50mm in one go. The stucco mix had far too much shrinkage, and cracked all over the place.
Believe me ANY suggestions will be greatfully accepted.
