Default leaning gate

Hi everyone, I have built a few fences with gates around the house in the last few years & I have noticed that 2 of the gates are leaning slightly away from the hinge side. I know now that you should use proper mix type concrete for the gate posts as opposed to speed set concrete because it is stronger but I cannot remember at the time whether I used speed set or normal concrete. The question is when installing gate posts regardless of what type of concrete you use, should you install the post level or slightly off & allow for the weight of the gate do its thing or would installing the fence post dead level & using mix type concrete in the first place nulify this problem all together. The gates are wooden slat so they do have a little weight but I notice that stratco recommend that you install the gate posts 8-14mm off level. Your thought would be much appreciated.

Cheers
Welshy

Q1. Are the posts actually bending or is it the gate that is sagging.

I would never deliberately off set a post to allow for "future" sagging. Get everything straight the first time.

Put up some photos. It may be resolved with some appropriate bracing or tieing back to a more solid structure.e.g. house wall

Thanks lazydays, I have the gate attached to the post with the L shape bracket that has the plug that slips into the 38 x 25 gate frame. The hinge post is definitely out of alignment hence the lean. When the gate was first put up it definitely was not out of alignment. I am still curious as to why stratco mention in their instructions for colourbond fences to concrete posts slightly out of alignment to allow for weight of gate to bring it level, does not seem right to me, I would have thought as you mentioned to get it level first time & I would have thought that if you concrete it properly there should be no sagging. I obviously did not concrete it properly, may have used speed set.
