Thread: OMG a-a-a-asbestos!

At the top of the air vents in my cellar are what seem to be strips of asbestos (holding up the bricks). The house would have been built circa 1980. Yes I could get someone in to look but I don't want to alarm the missus as its "all your fault" we bought this house in the first place (too hot, too cold and too small for HRH).

Anyone come across anything similar and found out what it was?

Thats not an issue. It could be but might be cement sheet. Slop a coat of paint on it and forget it.

rrobors right.

I had this issue a few years ago with asbestos cladding on a small shed. Rang Department of the Environment and they sent a guy around who looked at it with a jewellers eye piece and confirmed that it was asbestos.

He adsvised to keep it well painted - safer than removal!
