| | problem uploading I'm experienceing a problem uploading pics to a post. I've followed instructions and here's what happens.
When I click on reply, the usual boxes come up including one for attachments. when i click to upload I get error message. This is using Safari (mac).
When I try Internet Explorer and go through the same process, there is no button to click in the attachments box. ?????
This is weird as I suspect uploading will only work on Internet Explorer. I've discovered this before occasionally.
What will I do?
I did manage with IE to get pics up to an album.
To work around the problem, can I suggest in the post for anyone interested in pics to go there and look? Will they know how to do this? Is there some way I have to link post to album in this case?
Ta for any help. |

Are you using the POST REPLY at bottom left of the Quick reply within the message on the Lower Right??

| | If you use the POST REPLY button scroll down and you'll see a button Marked MANAGE ATTACHMENTS or if using Quick Reply press GO ADVANCED and scroll down ........same thing.
Press Manage Attachments and you will see a new window open like in the second screen dump
Click BROWSE, and chose the pic from wherever you have it.
Then Click UPLOAD and it will upload your chosen pic to our server.
Close that window....Press Submit Reply....and Robert is your Mothers Brother.

| | I have done both of those. The problem in Safari is when you go to upload it comes up with an error
Safari can’t open the page “ http://www.renovateforum.com/newatta...nageattach&p=”. The error is: “POSIX error: Invalid argument” (NSPOSIXErrorDomain:22) Please choose Safari > Report Bugs to Apple, note the error number, and describe what you did before you saw this message.
I've experienced this before uploading to sites. really frustrating. No idea what it means.
That's why I tried using IE. Unfortunately, if I was able to send you a screen dump, it would look a lot like yours, except there would be no attachments button. ??? Also attempted to click on a quick reply and it ignores the action completely. I know uploading works with IE coz I uploaded to my album but cant upload in a post as no attachment button to click ??
IE on Mac hasn't been upgraded for long time. Microsoft dumped it.
I am going to download another browser. Firefox. Will give that a go. |

| | Yay! Firefox works. Safari sucks. Pity, I kinda liked Safari. I'm off to familiarise myself with Firefox for a bit. Thanks Watson. |

| | I like to use a image hosting site to post my pictures, my favourite is "Image Shack" you can register with them and basically have a mass storage facility for your pictures.
Once you upload your picture, and you can resize the picture during upload............you simply copy and then paste a link in the reply box, BINGO your picture appears in the forum any size you wish.
If your registered with this site, and it's completely free, you can simply visit at any time in the future and copy a link to any number of pictures you have stored.
Hope that helps |

| | Shawn, we've had a lot of problems with off-site album storage, especially when one of the sites goes down. That leaves great big holes in our archives here and on WWF.
There are limited album facilities here under Community on the UBEAUTS skin, and its the preferred option for use on this forum.

Your point has been duly noted and I can see that if Image Shack site does fold you will have a lot of useless threads and posts by me. (No cruel remarks required, PLEASE) Quote:

| | Yep.....its limited to less than 100 pics, but its for the use of Reno Forum for Reno pics and is probably not the best place to put unsavoury snaps of your Mum's Bloomers
