Thread: Where to buy retic parts?

I'll be installing garden retic soon entailing pvc pipe, fittings, popup sprinkers, solenoid valves, etc. Can anyone recommend an Australian online store with good prices?

Sunshower On Line is good over here on the East Coast and Sunshower currently have a solenoid on special but you need to be sure of the size you want. You have to be careful about buying online as you could end up with Bunnings quality but Sunshower carry the U.S. Spears PVC fittings and other quality parts.

You will have to buy the PVC pipe over there for freight reasons and you should Google: Irrigation Supplies Perth WA for the other parts unless the purchase of smaller bits and pieces interstate justifies the extra freight cost.

Pvc pressure pipe is sold in 6 metre lengths at irrigation and most plumbing outlets with the flanged end intact. This will save on the cost of a PVC joiner. Just be aware that Bunnings usually cut them off.

I've purchased some of the better quality sprinkler heads from the US via ebay a few times now. Cost including postage can work out to half what people are charging here. Only problem is the postage can take a few weeks.

That isn't cool and water will become very expensive so plan right now for a system that uses water as efficiently as possible to dodge a world of hurt when the water bill comes in the mail.

No Micro sprayers (on little sticks)(too much of the water goes into the air rather than the soil)
No generic pop up sprinklers (rubbish water efficiency delivering water in excess of any soils capacity to absorb it)

Avoid black, or soft, or composted mulches. (even if they say "premium" or "water wise" etc.) They will increase water consumption, not decrease it.
