Hi, does anyone have any opinions on these resin/poly sheds?

How much??????????? .....you can get a metal shed for a coupla' hundred! I think the only thing special about those sheds is the price, and that's not 'special' in a good way......

Ha! Yeah I know. Was just an example. In terms of ease of installation and no slab, no worries about waterproofing etc. plus those one's look a little ordinary.

Is a slab easy to do yourself? Just with a wheelbarrow, no mixer. And what do you have to do to water proof the underside of a metal shed?

A small slab is fairly easy - if you box it in you can use the timber edging to run the screed bar over for leveling (see other posts on this site for how to concrete). But unless you are a real sucker for punishment, I'd just get a small readymix truck out for the actual mix - otherwise its about 10-15 wheelbarrow loads to mix, or about a tonne of material thats got to be mixed well (and quickly, if you have 10 loads to get through!).

But you don't necessarily have to have a slab floor - you can also use timber, or compacted granite, or pavers.

Keeping the water out is generally just some form of Z flashing depending on how you do the floor and the design of the shed.

The price seems high, but a for a DIYer wanting a quick shed with no pain not a bad option. All they have to do is level a bit of ground or bung it on their lawn or deck etc as it has a floor too. DIYers often don't count the value of their own time (as I get older I place a higher and higher value on it as it s finite resource!) and almost always underestimate how long a job will take, how hard it will be (and what skills are needed) and how much it really costs.

So if you bought a colourbond shed of around the same size eg: this one Premier garden shed 2.26x2.26 Single door Kit-Colorbond [23231G] : Buy a Shed, - garden sheds - farm sheds - carports - garage - and lots more (my first google hit) - and you need to compare the premium range IMO as the resin one is fully finished inside and out, then that is $729. Materials for a slab or timber floor might be around $250 - $300 or more depending on what bits and pieces the DIYer has - if they have to buy gear to mix cement with or timber to frame up with or pay for a small load, or buy a wheelbarrow or hire a mixer (I know these can be used for other things, but if you don't have them then you need to get them to erect your shed) then getting up to $1500-1600 won't be hard to do. And they need the knowledge and ability to do it easy when one knows how, but can bring tears when one doesn't.

Also the resin one easier to dismantle and move I guess. Not a cheap shed, but competitive IMO - and no doubt others around not as dear.
