    Default air conditioning duct tape

I have a leak in one of the duct tape joins.
What sort of duct tape do i need to get and can i get it at bunnings? What section?
I have google but it seems like people are saying duct tape is not good for a/c and i am a bit confused.

Also my duct work is really old, like 30years probably. Does it ever wear out, or would new ducting be significantly better performing?

As you are repairing an old already taped system then the Bunnings standard grey duct tape will be fine. The glue on the tape does tend to dry over the years and like you we also have thirty plus year old ducts and also are starting to have trouble with leaks if we disturb a length of pipe. Todays there is far more efficient ducting with higher energy efficiency so while the duct may not "wear out" there will be better performing ducting available now than there was then.
