Free house heating Not sure if it is free? Thought he was implying it was 15% cheaper than the utility charges. Is that due to the running cost of the air pump?
Would be great for daytime use but most of our heating requirement in SA is mornings and nights when the sun is not shining to produce heat. Guess it would need to shut down the air pump when the sun is not shining or it may suck the heat out of the room.
Great to see people inventing things so simple to help reduce the greenhouse gas emissions.

Awesome, I would love to make one, but alas the landlord might get upset at making penetrations in the brickwork.
cool idea, i think what he means is using one of these will reduce your bill by 15%. in otherwords you central heating wont need to run when the cans have direct sunlight

I like! Would really cut our power bill thru the winter here in tas. My wife & i are home most days & we often have temp highs of only 6c thru the winter so the heat pump or wood stove is running most of the day. Might help to heat the workshed too. hmmmmm

This is using either water radiators in the home, or water pipes in the slab to heat the concrete. Solar energy is collected from evacuated tube collectors in the roof.
Evacuated tube collectors are all the rage now it seems. They are strong and more efficient than the panel collectors we are all used to.
