Default Almost no cold water pressure in shower - potential causes & fixes?

We have a 1960s house in outer Melbourne. Cold water pressure in most of the house is pretty good, including the bathroom. But the shower, which is also in the bathroom, has barely a dribble of cold water. Hot water is fine.

I'm assuming it's galvanised pipes either corroding or some kind of build up of scale or deposits?

Are we up for an expensive plumbing job? Or are there any possible fixes I can try first?

You are most likely correct, corrosion where copper/brass meets gal, but I would first remove the cold shr tap to make sure there is no old washer or bits of tap washer stuck in there, and flush through while you have the tap off.

We had the same problem but in the laundry, it was causing havoc with the washing machine. Called a plumber in, he unscrewed the tap and spout, gave it all a good clean and good as new!

    Even better no charge.
