    Default Bullnose Verandah Flashing

    G'day all,

I am after some tips for finishing off a bullnose verandah,

I have recycled a second hand bullnose verandah with returns and am putting it on our Victorian cottage,

All timber work done, gutters and most of the tin is on, but I am not quite sure how to do the flashing?

I have looked at a few old houses, but there doesn't seem to be a consistent method for this type of flashing.

    1. Firstly the hips, most appear to have a pipe shape running down the ridge, should this be formed in the lead roll before it goes on?

    2. Also wondering what the best method is for flashing where the bullnose shape meets the weatherboards at each side, lead roll or bent zinc sheet?

    3. Also along the top where the verandah meets the house (near the facia), I have read the flashing should be dry installed - as in no sealant - is that correct?

Apologies if these questions are vague, haven't done much of this before… and I can't find much info online about this.

Any help would be appreciated, cheers.

If you go to a decent sheetmetal workshop they should be able to roll/form up some bullnose flashing for you but it might be a bit expensive but it looks the best.
