    Default linear shower grates

I need to source 2 1m grates for a double shower we are having built at the moment.

Is there anything to look out for when purchasing these? I have never used one before.

I would also appreciate any advice on the best place to buy them.

    Hi Vince,

Be aware that many of the trough drains available on the market do not meet the current of even past waterproofing standards, they are being dumped here and have caused many problems.

My advise would be that if does noy meet the standard look further. The ones that do meet the standard are marked: (meets the current Australian Waterproofing Standard).

The main problem with the imports is that they rely on a butt joint seal, not good when hot water hits thin steel and it expands faster the the tiled area.

personally I would go for the ones that you fit a matching in, almost invisible and whole lot easier to keep clean.

    Good luck.

We always use the Bounty range of products, Australian Made and high quality product, these cost a little more but with linear drains you get what you pay for.

I would go for the biggest dia waste ~80mm incase of blockage save removing the grate if plumb problem in future.
