Default Is it normal to install a drain like this next to grass?

I had a plumber come install an ag-drain and channel drain as water was pooling next to my house. They also said they were going to install a stormwater pit/drain but what they installed was not what I expected nor where I was expecting it. It's a bit of an eye-sore and it's next to grass/dirt and I was wondering if that's normal or whether they just did a rushed job. I have a similar drain below a tap and it's all concreted into a funnel shape towards the drain. This is currently sticking above the soil level, and will inevitably have soil enter it.

looks ok to me, once grass grows no dirt will go in there.
